can I stamp chrome tanned leather?

I've got some cheap 3 oz chrome tanned leather I want to turn into a little coin purse. I really want to buy a cool $ stamp to emboss the front, but the tutorials say you must use veg tanned leather.
Mine is definitely the cheap chrome stuff. Can I successfully stamp chrome tanned leather? If so, what's the trick? I don't want to buy the stamp if it won't work on this cheap hide! Thanks for any tips!

I do not recommend using chrome tanned leather because it does not take stamping the same way veg tanned does. The impressions usually fade or look shallow no matter if you use a lot of force or use heat. Unlike with veg tanned leather, it can give you a clear and long lasting emboss.

You can but it wont last and it's poor quality.
