Someone's selling JUKI DDL 5530. This machine is not far from my house. I simply cane across it and claimed it had just been serviced and asked for $380 and comes with a walking foot attachment. The only question is if the pace can be reduced to 5K stitches per minute. Any thoughts on this machine would be greatly appreciated. Like can it be used for leather and what weight and thickness of leather do you think it would handle? Coz I'm planning on buying an LS-1 and not sure if I should stick with it or try this one.

Good price! Yes, but only for lighter leather projects.

I agree with @Alan. There is another way like swapping the pulley or motors, or you can also add a speed reducer. but it is still better to get an advanced machine instead of modifying what you have.

Right, so better plan ahead. Like what are you planning to do more in the future... So you can assess if this is a purchase that will be worth it.

Thanks! That’s what I was thinking too but I was looking for other options but I guess it is time to get an advanced machine. The cost is just similar to getting a new one.
