Pretty sure this is the one I liked for explanation of where the needles go based on the direction of the slant of your holes,

Nigel Armitage's tutorials are gold and highly reliable. If you want to actually learn hand stitching without wasting time, his vids are the real deal. I think it should be helpful for beginners.
