Iron Rings

Do they have to be "iron" or will regular steel do?

I have some and if memory serves (it doesn't always) I got them from the "specialty hardware" drawers at one of the big box stores like Home Depot, Lowe's, or Tractor Suppy.

Hello ALL. Does anyone have a source to buy ready-made iron, round rings of different diameters ? Thanks for any help.

Rick
have you tried the specialized leathercraft suppliers? they're the best bet for quality and selection. you know companies like Tandy Leather, Weaver Leather Supply, and Buckleguy specialize in leather hardware. They'll have a wide range of sizes, materials (iron, solid brass, stainless steel), and finishes, and the quality is usually very high.

Most all of the rings you will find are steel and have some sort of coating or plating on them. When I need a raw steel ring for saddle work, I get a nickel plated one and heat it red hot cooking off the plating. The I cut the weld and hammer closed the gap
