don't mean to 'rain on your parade,' but as a practical matter, there are some things you cannot solve without the assistance of others ... i don't do my own wiring, i don't do my own orthopedic repairs, and i leave my transmission to the expertise of others .... my house hasn't burned to the ground, my joints still work (arthritis notwithstanding) and my car still runs.
regret to say, but there is no universal solution...
