a good sentiment, and inasmuch as it moves the dial away from the perpetual victim mentality and closer to self- sufficiency, i like it...

don't mean to 'rain on your parade,' but as a practical matter, there are some things you cannot solve without the assistance of others ... i don't do my own wiring, i don't do my own orthopedic repairs, and i leave my transmission to the expertise of others .... my house hasn't burned to the ground, my joints still work (arthritis notwithstanding) and my car still runs.

regret to say, but there is no universal solution...

just one guy's opinion ... free and doubtless well worth the cost

Agreed. It needs to be a balance. There are things we can and must solve on our own and some with the help of others.

Right. No universal solution to anything. In as much as we much to resolve things on our own, we need help. We have to reach out to our families and friends.
 
My mom used to say it takes a village to raise a child. That's one example that you can't do things alone.
