Any guide that includes several free patterns and lists of tool upgrades you can look into as you get better at the craft.
I learned that it’s a good idea to start with just the essential tools like a sharp knife and a basic stitching pony before buying expensive kits. Are there any specific projects like wallets or belts here that I can have patterns for?

I wish I had a guide like this when I first started out and wasted money on cheap kits I never used. The section on tool upgrades is helpful because it is hard to know which brand of chisels is actually worth the extra cost. I appreciate the free patterns as well since practicing on scrap leather is the best way to learn. Have you considered adding a list of recommended leather suppliers that ship small quantities for beginners.

If you’re looking for beginner-friendly freebies, check out MakeSupply or Corter Leather’s websites. They both have excellent free PDF patterns for cardholders and simple bifolds that include step by step video tutorials.

Just get a few quality tools that you need instead of buying a giant box of low quality items.

+1 @LeatherallyC00l

Keep in mind that a dull blade is much more dangerous than a sharp one. It can also ruin good leather in seconds. This is why it is important to keep yours sharp.
