I said in my intro post that I would try to post pics of the bag shown under construction in a future post. I'm going to attempt it. I had trouble getting more than 2 selected pics to post in that topic.

This was my 1st time using veg tan goat leather and 1st time really trying to follow Neil Armitage's instructions on needle and thread placement/direction through the holes. It might even have been the 1st project with that stitching clam.
Here's some still under construction...

(Well that worked better)
Buckle was from James Rogers (along with a lot of good advice and supportive commentary), thread is hemp, and while the bag and welt are the goat leather the strap is veg tan cow.
No dye used. After turning the bag and wet molding some volume into it I just warmed it and applied combinations of 100% pure mink oil, or neatsfoot oil, or combinations of those oils and beeswax depending on which part of the bag I was working on and what it's exposure to weather would be.

Finished pics and alterations to follow...

This was a copy of a basic bag I made as an experiment trying to follow 18th century guidelines for size and design,,,, but to only use materials and parts someone could source at hobby and craft stores. It came out really well so I decided to copy it with more appropriate materials, it has become my favorite shot pouch. (It is NOT a "possibles bag" 🙄)

Finished pouch and a modification/alteration...

Some comparisons to the experimental bag included.
After looking at it for a few days hanging on the rack, something was bothering me,,, made a small addition.

After a little use I found I needed one more slight change/modification...

While I have found over the last fee years that this thin goat leather has been surprisingly tough and durable, once it is cut it wants to keep tearing, so the button hole needed a repair and a buttonhole stitch. Not something I do often so not something I do well.

Yes, rounding the tip of the flap with that thin leather trim was a challenge.

This is all done by hand. No machine of any kind is ever used.
