what's your first leather project?

a guy that I know just gave me this absolutely nice leather, and I'm excited to make my first leather project. I made a few bags before, but from a non leather materials.
I've bought a few basic tools like a cutting knife, mallet, awl, stitching chisels, pricking irons, etc, so I feel I'm ready for this
I want to make a simple handbag, or a nice wallet for my cards, still thinking about it, though
what was your first leather project, guys? any tips and advice for a noob in leathercraft?

My first leather project was actually a little leather bookmark — if you can even call it a “project”!
That was about 8 years ago, and at the time it felt like such a fun and totally new experience for me.
I still have it, by the way!

now I work more professionally in leather shoe design and collaborate with an Iranian brand that makes genuine leather bags and shoes.
