I just started leather crafting and finished my very first card holder project. Cutting straight lines with a precision knife was much harder than the videos made it look. I also struggled to punch holes until I moved my board to the floor for a more solid surface. Stitching by hand without a pony was slow and made my fingers sore but I am actually proud of how the threads turned out. I do not have a beveler yet so the edges look a bit rough. And using solid beeswax for burnishing was a struggle since it is so thick and hard to spread. I want to know how to make the top unstitched edges of my pockets look professional and clean.

Have you tried using a rotary cutter for your straight lines to get a smoother edge than a knife?

I think my blade is dull. Thanks for your suggestions. I will definitely try it. I am planning to make a new personalized cardholder for my son. Hopefully, I can pull this off.
