Singer 241-12

Is Singer 241-12 a good machine for leather? I found one available nearby which means I can skip shipping fee. I need to know if this machine can really handle sewing thick stuff like belts, wallets, and hand-tooled leather goods. If only it was nearer, I would've gone there and tried it. The guy doesn't know if it can but he remembers his mother using it before. He inherited the machine. The seller told me I may just need to get a leather needle for it but I’m worried he is just trying to make a sale and might not be telling me the truth. I'm hoping someone knows.

Afaik, it can also handle leather. Just make sure to use the correct leather needles and a heavy thread. If you plan to use it with multiple layers of hand tooled leather, it may struggle.
